OPPO Encourages People to Think Differently in New Diwali Campaign, Marketing & Advertising News, ET BrandEquity

A still from the movie

OPPO, an electronics manufacturer, launched its Diwali campaign with its motto #InspirationAhead. The brand film spotlights people who are doing things differently to inspire change.

The TVC, directed by Alok Kulkarni, opens with a phone call to a parent whose child is in trouble for incessantly doodling all over the school premises. The annoyed mother thinks of ways for her son to make amends.

The film then cuts to introduce their housing company where there have been numerous incidents of children and adults being injured by hidden potholes. The boy offers a clever solution to this problem. In order to help locals avoid potholes, he and his friends use fluorescent markers to doodle around them.

Near the end of the film, we get a glimpse of the street decorated with bright doodles, which aside from adding beauty, also helps locals navigate potholes.

The film shows how creative thinking can provide an out-of-the-box solution to a problem. The message at the end of the film, “Be the light that inspires”, encourages others to reconsider the way things are often perceived.
