Irish Sun launches new TV campaign

The irish sun has launched a new TV campaign that aims to position its website, TheSun.ie, as the top choice online for showbiz news, sports and gossip. TheSun.ie has seen growth over the past 12 months, with monthly users increasing by 7% from July 2021 to the end of July this year. Over the same period, page views are also said to have increased by 25%.

The campaign, titled “It’s TheSun.ie Time,” says the red top’s personality-filled content is so grabbing attention that readers will want to find more ways to spend time with it. Featuring three 20-second TV performances, each shows the quirky ways some people have found to save more time reading the various content shown on TheSun.ie.

An ad is located in a laundromat, where we see someone washing one sock at a time so they can read more content. Another shows someone walking the wrong way on a treadmill, while the third, set in an elevator, shows a young woman stopping on each floor of the building to read. The campaign was developed by Pulse Creative and Mindshare.

From this week, TV adverts will air on RTE, Virgin Media, Sky, Channel 4, Sky on Demand and YouTube. Television activity will be supported by 20-second radio spots on News Corp’s UrbanMedia stations – FM104 and Q102 from Dublin, 96FM/C103 from Cork, Live95FM from Limerick, Galway Bay FM, WLR in Waterford and LMFM in the North- is.
